I was going to post this in the parts wanted section but thought it would be better here.

Looking for a set of AC brackets for a 6.2 diesel.
Need 85-86 model brackets for the HR6 compressor.

If you have any you want to let go of let me know.

I have a set of 82-84 brackets if anyone needs them, I can let them go after I find a set that I can use.

Nate

Are those 82-84 brackets for an A6 compressor? I'm most likely interested. My current bracket setup consists of some random 3/16" plate I found in the back of the shop, and some 3/8" rod with washers welded on each end!

Yea, they are for the A6 compressor. I can't get rid of them until I find the brackets for an HR6 compressor.

As soon as I find them we can work something out. Just don't want to leave myself without any brackets for A/C, its getting hot on my hour long drive to work at 5 PM.

Nate

Whats different in the brackets? I have got a spare set I pulled off a motor that look similar to what I have on my 85. Let me get some pics.

Let me know if you need any more pics

Thanks for the pictures. Looks like I am missing the one that bolts to the compressor anyway.

These are the brackets I have, for the A6 compressor.
I thought the HR6 compressor was shorter. That is why I thought I needed different brackets.

I just took another look under the hood on my 85, The compressor is shorter. I was mistaken on the year model of the motor I pulled that compressor setup off of.

I found a part number and the one pictured is an A6 compressor.

On my 85 with the HR6 the brackets are "Inset" to mount to the manifold and front of the block.. If I get a chance to take some pics I will and post them later.

Sorry for the confusion

To help with confusion on what the different types of compressors are...
HR6 is the radial compressor, fat short round thing
A6 is an axial compressor, long round one in the pictures

HR6 is a pretty small compressor, just not to be confused with the gas engines R4 short fat compressors. The HR6 came on several buick cars in the mid 80's and the 6.2 diesel from 85 - 90's I think.

Anyway, enough of that, I found the brackets at a local junk yard. He actually had them on a 1985 dually with a 6.2 that had been eaten up with rust, the motor and trans were good. He is selling the 6.2 with a banks turbo setup and said it has a TH400 behind it with an overdrive box. It is at big 4 auto in austin, TX if anyone is intrested.

This one?

Here is a quick cell phone pic I got at the junkyard today. I will probably go back and pick this up for my suburban tomorrow if you need more or better pics. It looks like the rear brackets are the same, just with a spacer for the shorter compressor???
