What is the difference between a switched and non switched Compressor. I was getting info for one and the parts guy asked me which one I needed but he didn't know the difference. I don't have one to compare to.

Thanks

Hmmm, thats a weird question. I would say that your 1981 would use a switched compressor. I have never seen a Harrison/Fridgidare compressor that did not have a connection for wiring in the low pressure cutoff switch, which is usually located on the accumulator.
