I finally got all I need to charge ac system again.I had to make the line 6 inches longer to fit, going to charge it in the morning wish me luck. this heat is going to be the end of me.

have fun
last time my house AC went out i had my dogs and wife living in my Cabover camper in the driveway (off the truck) since it has AC lol

it was 110 and they never loved that camper as much as they did that day, stupid AC compressor lost its heat strip ( yup a heater coil on the compressor that keeps the oil warm took out the system in 110 temps LOL

I chose to go to the store instead if wrench a little. Wait a couple hours so it's only 98 instead.

It's down to 101 now and storms are popping up everywhere in the area

Yep it sucks, anyone now how many cans of Freon it will take?
Do you have it Vacuumed down yet and is it holding. If 134a is about 80% of R12. You should have a sticker on the AC box.

Not till morning still have to install the lines, OK I'll look for it if I can read it
Thanks Frankin5

I had to use the pressure chart on my truck system it's all aftermarket. On my systems, I filled to 5 - 10 pounds under the chart and it worked great. Using the pressure chart as a close reference and a vent thermometer will get you where you need to me. If you overcharge the system, the vent temperature will rise and the system will not work well.

Thanks for that but since I blew the transmission the night before I charged it it will be a while before I do it
