Anyone know what truck, etc? this hose came from. Long story but we are re doing the AC in my 84 K5 Blazer. The truck has a newer late 80's motor. all the parts stores are pulling part numbers that dont match this hose. I looked under everything - K5, K10, sub, etc... Trying to find out where I can get this damn hose from. It may be coustom ...dont know.

looks real short, does it seem like it puts the compressor on the right side of the motor? if so try a 1991 camaro application. They have the alternator on the left with their full serp setup and the compressor on the right, and have real short lines.

And the motor is sup belt - I do think this hose is OEM made... but I just dont what make/model.... car/truck it came from....

Apparently I got one of the last ones from "right now auto parts".....I guess RockAuto is going to be your best bet.

Part number might also be 15641231

only **** Jeff.... this is the right part. You the man... thanks bro...

( we wernt searching high enough - look this hose is 89-91 years)

you actually might see some numbers on the old hose. When I got my new one it matched right up!

The Autozone one had longer hoses and the metal routing from the compressor went "up" rather than down. Also, the dryer end had a few extra bends in the metal tubing, too. I suppose I could have gotten it to work but wanted it to look clean and "factory looking".

I just went through this whole AC conversion so let me know if you have any other questions......

One thing I missed when I brought it to the dealer for the final re-charge.....the "conversion kit" which was just two new threaded adaptors so they could hook up their r134a machine to my older r12 fittings. Dealer charged $58 and the Autozone guy told me he had them for about $25. Good luck!

Mine is up and running fine.....good thing it's 37 degrees out today!

Also be sure that everything is capped or tied together so no "contaminents" can get inside your system. This includes moisture too.

I never read your tagline. I always assumed you had an 89-91 truck from your avatar.

I was going to say that the hose looks like the one on my 89 blazer.

long story.. but my vin show 1984 K5 original 305ci. The engine is newer 350 TBI/ sup belt setup crate motor (around 1990) - TBI converted to carb.

Front end/grill is 89-91
T case (np 205) 197?
Trans- T350 - who knows

so you can see... parts ordering can be a challenge. We joke that it’s the Johnny Cash truck (like the song) It’s a ………77,78,79,80,81,82,83,84,85,86…….87,88,89,90 automobile!!

It all runs and works better than new though.

Do yourself a favor and make a "cheat sheet" of any oddball parts/years that you have on your rig and throw it in the glovebox so when you need to replace that oddball part you can give the parts monkeys the needed info to get the correct part the first time.

I have a set of Camaro hoses and they don't work. The exit from the compressor and the line to the condenser are perfect, but there is no way to reach the receiver/dryer. The Camaro had it mounted separate from the evaporator core with anther line between them. It would be hard to relocate the receiver/dryer in a square-nose because the exit from the evap turns about 120 degrees.

I have a local place here that can make ac hoses from scratch and uses your existing pieces. Grab yourself a phone book and find someone who makes hydraulic hoses. Then you just grab whatever compressor you need and go for it.

I just tried he 90 camaro hose and from the looks on mine I just need to bend the tubing going in the evaporator 90 degrees and it'll be golden, I know this stuff will not bend easy but it's all I got anymore. I also know that this is an old post but I wanted to throw this out there for anybody else searching for a solution. I tried to post a picture but I can't get it to work, most likely because I haven't paid my dues. Good luck everyone!
