hello all. my 78 blazer had ac at one point in time but the comp, hoses, ect have been removed and im looking at getting rid of the evap on the firewall kinda a eye sore. i seen kits for ac delet but i dont really want to spend money on that. so has anyone gutted out the evap cut out the steel lines that come out of it shorten it up a bit and fiberglassed it up to make it look a little cleaner or is this even possible?

One of the easiest (depends on who you ask) would be to hit up a junk yard and find a NON A/C truck/K5 and grab the box off its firewall. Itll just be the blower motor, etc.

If your monkeying around with all that stuff, it might be good time to replace heater core, they are cheap enuff.

Otherwise I guess you could fab something up. But I like factory look

really? a non ac unit will just fit right on to a ac firewall. sweet. should a guy replace the controls or is that a lot of screwing around?

I dont know if its a direct fit but its gotta be pretty close. Others can chim in for sure.

I probably wouldnt mess with controls.
