On my 92 blazer the ac surges slightly. Its not just the clutch kicking on and off. I cant figure it out, has anyone have any sugestions on where to start. thanks-Jeff

Do you mean the air coming out of the vents surges? What do you mean surges? Are you in the vehicle when you notice it, or standing in front on the engine looking at motor? If it is the air coming from the vents it could be a vaccum leak causing the vent doors to open and then shut, or the fan blower motor could be going or it could be the Hi/Low fan switch on your dash. I have had a vac leak cause it as well as the high/low switch.

NO, sorry I was not to clear. W/ the ac on from inside when I am driving I feel the motor surge. I turn the ac off and the surging stops.

Does your A/C run as cold as normal? If not then you may be getting low on freon causing it to cycle on and off at times.

I wonder if that setup uses an AC pressure switch to bump engine RPM up?

Is this pretty much something you only notice at idle, or while driving too?
