So I acquired an 84 K5 to use as a parts vehicle but it runs and drives good so I'm going to take what I need from it and sell the rig when I'm done. Here's my question...
I'm swapping the AC from the 84 and putting it into my 86 but I'm going to need a new compressor as the old one is locking up. Anyone know how those remaned compressors work overall? Any suggestions on things I need to do while I'm converting over the other system to the new one? THanks

I don't have any experience with an aftermarket R4 compressor, but I have read on the internet and heard that most of them are junk. Most of the stuff I've seen says that if the old compressor isn't making noise (like bad bearings) to just reseal it.
On yours, is the clutch locked up, or the compressor its self? You can replace just the clutch if that's the only bad part.
I just bought an AC delco compressor from rock auto for the same price I could get an aftermarket one locally.
