So I was messing around with the air box today (under the dash) and noticed that I think I might be missing some stuff in there?
Looking at the image here, I've got the connector rod #9 that goes to a pivot shaft #13, which is on top of the case and moves with the baffle...however I am missing the other pivot shaft #16, which connects to that #9 rod end, and goes thru the case (and moves something else??). Since I'm not the one who lost it, I have NO idea what I'm looking for, just what i've got off this image.

anyone have some ideas...the local JY does not have any square bodies in it, otherwise I'd just go there.

anybody have an extra air box laying around??

found this picture on the inter webs... I'm definitely missing whatever that rod connects to (the pivot shaft in the "b" circle) and whatever internally it connects to, no clue...

Image B is the door to the heater core. Image A is the air diverter.

So there's supposed to be a door in there...so a total of 3 doors attached to the housing?
I've got the air diverter (with the external plastic clip notorious for breaking) then the internal door (the rear most bracket that moves and you can see into the evap core) but i dont see a door that blocks off the heater core...is that it?

You know, I was just in mine a few months ago. I changed out the heater core. My memory is already failing me, but I'm pretty sure there was an internal door that closed of the heater core and it is linked to the air diverted inside. Looking at the whole air box, the heater core is to the right. Door for vents or floor is the one with the plastic connector that can brake which connects the vacuum servo. Then there is a diverter behind and to the left of that which links up to the heater box door. I think that was how it went....

When you select heat on the controller, you are just opening or closing that door for a given amount of hot air to be mixed.

ARgh, :doah: that makes COMPLETE sense now how that door works, regulating somewhere between HOT and COLD.

Definitely missing that little door and the pivot shaft that vertically connects to it.
