I’d like a shorter accelerator cable, my current (‘91 Blazer) cable (per Rockauto) is 29.25” long and forces me to twist a loop into it to fit my carb.

I see a ‘78 K10 cable should be 25.5” long and a ‘74 K10 cable should be 24.25” long. Has anyone made this swap? I’m curious if there are any issues with the cable connecting to the pedal assembly.

I pulled an entire assembly out of an S-10 when I converted mine over to fuel injection. You can also trim down the one that you have in it redo the end at the pedal

My current cable is ok but the black plastic sheath is cracking and hanging loose, if I’ve got to replace it I figure I MAW…

Doesn’t yours have the eyelet for the throttlebody?

Yes. I bought a stud kit by Holley for my carb, I will need to open up the eyelet just a smidge. The pics on RA for the ‘78 show an eyelet, the ‘74 has a ball/sockst thingy (not sure if I can get an add on stud with a ball).

Yes, all of those little hardware pieces can be interchanged. It’s easier if you’re buying the cable to just match it to what you’re using.
