The dome light in my suburban kept coming on and off. Whenever the passenger door was opened and shut it would go out. I pulled the switch out of the door jamb but the wire came off. How in the heck do you get to the wire to get it through the hole to put it back on the switch?? Everything I try seems to indicated I can't get to the wire. I don't want this to short since it is a constantly hot wire.

I had to pull it out from the back, under the dash. Then sent a coat hanger through the hole in the door jam up to underneath the dash. Tied wire to coat hanger, pulled coat hanger out of the hole.

It sucked, but worked.

The wire to the jamb switch is a ground wire--it wont burn or blow fuses if it grounds, but it will make the dome and courtesy lights come on--kinda spooky when your driving alone!. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
