I feel like such a moron. I've done this job before, but it seems like I've forgotten how the damn accessory brackets go back on. I have my air pump and alt on. But the p/s and AC I'm confused with. I may have lost a bracket, well it seems that way looking at them lol.:doah: Anyone with a good link I can follow or picture? I've searched and looked up google images. Still checking website how-tos.

Thank you:D

Ok, I have two brackets here. I think the one on the left goes to the AC, but I don't understand how. The one on the right, I have no clue.:doah: Also, are these brackets right?

top picture. bracket on the right. mounts to the exhaust manifold, will need spacers for a header, those 2 bolt holes kinda facing the other bracket are the manifold holes. the udjustment hole to the right in the picture would be at the top

or i could be completely wrong

would anyone be so kind as to take a few snap shots of their engines? I've been all over Bing, Google, Yahoo, EBay, Youtub, etc looking for something that will help. I have truly mulled over this quite a bit, get frustrated, and try to work on something else. Something is getting done, just not anything that makes it run.

Yeah, I'll take some pics of my 86 manana...

while taking in Snuffy74's artistic boredom, I see a picture of one of the brackets. But now I'm for sure confused. I guess that one mounts using the spacers for the headers. But I don't know what the two that are mounted on the block are for, or how the remaining larger one is mounted. Hmmm, a little closer I think.

ok, looks like the top bracket I have mounted now kinda bolts to the AC bracket also. I totally get where this one goes now. Bitchin. Now how do the other 3 go lol. I know the other big one goes on top of the AC compressor, but don't get how it bolts up.
arrg, this is totally not like me, not to have picture. I'm pissed. I might fork over the $2 and hit a junkyard, might get lucky and find something in tact.

Ok, I'm gunna try to help the next poor bastard that doesn't take pictures lol. I hit the junkyard and found out a couple things. I am missing my top bracket, that mounts to the intake manifold and one bolt for the AC bracket. I also had a different bracket for the PS pump. I think this bracket is for NON AC equipped trucks. It came from my truck, I have no idea how the hell some PO got it on there. I also saw one truck from the junkyard that had a top support rod for the AC bracket. I never had this, and looking around, most trucks don't. So I picked that one up too.:waytogo: So here are some pictures. The last is of the optional bracket. If you have AC, you don't have it. If you don't have the AC brackets, then you prolly have this mounted on the bottom. I think :D

Yes, you do use that last bracket with AC. I am not sure ho you got everything very tight without it.

Martin

lol
did you come from Duelings thread ahahaha

I looked at a bunch of trucks in the junkyard and never saw that bracket on any of them. Around here, they all have AC. So I tossed the bracket and everything works. So unless something bad is in my future, I dunno, but things are dandy at the moment :)

You can see how that bracket is suppose to go on there in his top picture. I looked at the first page, and it appeared you had it mounted correctly at on point. There is a stud that screws into the back of the pump that goes into that bracket.

Their I fixed it lol. Hey man I didnt have that last bracket on my truck anywhere and I know I didnt lose one, unless somehow you have it at an odd angle and I cant tell....:dunno:

PS how did you attach that one ac bracket that formerly attached to the manifolds??? Mine is like completely in the way with the headers, I was thinking of just hacking it and welding a new piece that will extend to one of the header bolts.....

Also more pics the better!!!! lol

Correct, I had it on there, but nothing lined up. I know which stud you're talking about, but it didn't line up either. Also, the bolts from one side to the other didn't really line up and cause problems. Then I thought "screw it" and tried everything without that bracket. Everything lined up and has 500 miles on it. Dunno what happened, but I prolly wont do anything till something happens :D

Once I get my exhaust back from the coaters (should be this week) I can mock something up real quick so you can see. :waytogo:
