Anyone know off hand what the R&P tooth counts are for the gear ratio's found in a 14B FF? I was just inside of a set of axles I got, and while I was installing a detroit, I counted 41 teeth on my ring gear, and forgot to count the pinion before I put it back together. No biggie, I can just climb underneath and count driveshaft revolutions if need be, but thought there may be a simple answer to this. All tags with ratio specs were already missing from the cover when I got the axles. I also noticed that all of the common ratio's for a 14B FF could be worked out with 41 ring gear teeth...

41/9= ~4.56
41/10= ~4.10
41/11= ~3.73

So I have a feeling I am gonna be crawling under the truck if this is the case...

3.42:1= 41 ring & 12 pinion, so u can get close by counting revolutions, or be exact and pull the cover and see what # is stamped in ring gear after 41 and divide 41 by that # to get true ratio.

My ring gear wasnt stamped with the info.
If anyone else has that prob, the info was stamped on the end of the Pinion Shaft a little deeper in the diff. Kinda hard to see and read but it was there

41/8=5.13

The 3.73's were 41/11, i had a 14 bolt with 3.73's.

I'm pretty sure every possible factory ratio was based on a 41 tooth ring gear. I can only assume the new 5.38's available would have to have a different ring gear count because 41/7 is a 5.86 ratio. I think the new 5.38's are 43/8.
