Adapter re-seal kit from ORD

On the input shaft itself. You'll see a little recess behind the splines.

learn something new, thats why the transfer case is probably filling up with trany fluid.

Thanks

ding ding ding . . . . and make sure the coupler lines up . 1 side i think has a machined flat section to line up and work with the o-ring on the input gear .

I new that just didn't know about o-ring ,
Changed seal when I rebuilt the transmission. It's a slow fill but no beuno situation...... Lol

found it,,,,
This O-Ring fits inside the splined coupler to prevent oil from flowing via the inside of the coupler from the automatic transmission to the transfer case.

well i bought a seal kit a few years ago and it has that o-ring inside it so either monday or tuesday ill pull the transfer case back and put it in

i put it tin today only took me 4 and a half hours , still have to put in front drive shaft but thats it

When I bought a seal kit for my NP205 some of the gaskets where not correct for it. Since my truck has the one year only 4L80E/NP205 combo the transfer case adapter and input shaft seal housing gasket was different. All NP205 seal kits are for the T400/NP205 combo, and not the 4l80E/NP205 combo . The input shaft seal was correct, but I had to make my own input shaft housing and adapter gasket.
