Hi, I tried searching the forums and gone through many threads, I was wondering if I could add an extra leaf spring to the front suspension? or are they only for the back? I was going to do 2.5" inch blocks in the back and 2.5" add a leafs springs in the front because I am buying 33's soon. I don't need to do a shackle flip as I am not planning on anything bigger than 33" tires right now, it is a daily driver. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work, may people run zero rates in the front without any issues. Also something to else to consider; I run 33s under my k5 with the original factory suspension, many others (including myself:o) thought it had a 2-2.5 inch lift on it, and as an added bonus I barely have any rub when I stuff the tires in the fender wells:D

i did the add-a-leaf that added about 2" and hated it...it rode so rough i couldn't stand it

i took off the add-a-leaf and used the 1" zero rate instead and it feels just like stock again...i have 32's but could easily go to 33's next time i get new tires

yep add-a-leafs are super stiff and will ride like sh!t .

but a 2-3" lift kit and bolt it in and be done. your old a$$ front springs will be shot anyway. and lift kit with springs/shocks/ubolts would be the way to go. and no major mods like steering/driveshafts/brakelines would need to be done.

or just a zero rate would work. but the trouble to do just zero rate go springs and be done.

Thanks for the replies, I am a complete newbie to suspension stuff, I do more with motors than anything else. I will probably go with some springs in the front, would 3/4 ton springs add any lift? if not I'll just buy some 2.5" lift springs and blocks from summit racing and call it good, or trim the inner fenders until then as they are already rusted and will be replaced in the future.
