I've heard 2... but don't quote me on that.
thay are stiff. and the concept of leafs in a pack is that you whant the ends to not be the same as the others, look at your packs to under stand. and the leafs have there own free arch and when put together that makes the ride and weight capacity of the pack.
you also want the suspension to flex or this will make the frame take most of the flex and break it fast.
