I could run a filter from Fuel Pump to Carb, but ive SS Braided lines and there isnt much room to put an inline filter up there. Is there anyway to add one to the frame rail like most modern cars. When I was under the truck this weekend, I see one of the fuel lines had a 1 inch thing , looked like a splice to connect two lines with two fittings on each side.

Just wonder if I could use that and what type or kind of filter could I use. Or should I just stick with one from Fuel pump to carb and try to make it work?

I think the best kind of filter to run nowadays is a water seperator type, that bolts to the firewall...yes its more work to install, and you'll pay 30+ bucks for the filter base and filter to start off with, but it'll hold a ton of crud before it'll even need a filter change, plus keep all the water out of your carb or EFI and injectors...they have to be instaled on the pressure side of the fuel pump ..with the many stories about ethanol causing water to build up in todays gas I think its a good investment--Summit and Jegs sell the filters I'm refering too in "Perma-Cool" brand...but you might get just as good a price on a Wix one at a NAPA or other parts store..

also first 2-3 years of the 6.2 in the trucks we run had spin on fuel filter on firewall.

good simple swap in part.

and yes the new fuels with ethanol blends hold almost 10x the water and faster than non mix gas.

In general, filters work best under pressure. They are not really designed to handle vacuum.
If it gets a little clogged, you might find yourself sucking air around the fittings.

Years ago, during Carter's gas shortage, it was not uncommon to get dirt or water in your tank because of service stations drawing out the last dregs.

I was making a run between Panama City Fl. and Orlando about once a week and got tired of changing the little filter on my carb and having to tear it down every so often to clean out the crud.

NAPA sold a glass bowl filter and water separator. I bought one and mounted it between the pump and the carb.

Every few days, I checked it, and had to drop the bowl to get the water and crud out about once a week.
I always wondered about it being glass, but I mounted it away from anything likely to hit it, and it was really thick glass.

Can't find the one at NAPA, but they are available elsewhere.
Mine did not have the internal filter, just a brass screen.

Here for instance.

But you can get them cheaper.
Replacement filter elements are available at NAPA.
However, your best bet would be to get a Raycor spinon filter with the clear bottom, with a drain.
More expensive, but a much better filter.

If I ever do a rat rod, ill get that glass one, that is cool. For my Blazer. I think want something more robust, but I like the idea of a spin on type. Ill check into that.

So I would want it on between the Fuel pump and the carb or between gas tank and fuel pump?

Im running a Mechanical pump on the block.

Found this site, can get the filters for 8bux.

Question: Which one would work for my stock Blazer fuel pump? I dont know what size fuel lines ive got. Also which flow would work? any of them?

I just checked Napa online, they have the remote mount and filter.

Has anyone installed one of these on a carb'd motor with low fuel pressure?

Well, I would suspect any of those would work. I still think it should be between the pump and carb.
Check out part number MAL9-37880 on this page

Probably too much money, but I like the clear bottom where you can see if you have water or crud in your gas.
I have the Racor version on my boat.

I have a similar one inline on the frame. Mine is smaller though and available at any parts store.

I have this one as a back up

I also still have my carb filter. I haven't dropped my tank to clean it yet, I don't know if it's ever been done. Being a new fuel pump, motor and carb, I didn't want any tank crap getting to them. Plus, I'd rather not have to change the carb filter if I don't have to. Not sure if there's a downside to what I did, just figured I'd try.

Well, I went for the quick and easy fix. I already had Steel Braided line and -6 fittings, so I just got an inline filter. I picked up a 45* elbow for the output of the fuel pump and then put the filter inline. Its pretty easy to get to. I had mounted up by the carb, but I didnt like how it looked.
