Added up the receipts this afternoon

Good news/bad news

Good news is that most of the necessary parts are already purchased.

Bad news is that the total, with original $1,000 purchase price is just over $9,000.

Good news is that I should be able to finish the project (keeping all the bells and whistles) for under $16,000

Bad news is that it will cost approx $16,000 to finish the Blazer.

Good news is that most of it will be "new" and should be mechanically dependable for a DD.

Bad news is that the wife hates it.

Good news is that I don't.

More bad news:

Unless you get special coverage, your insurance company will give you about $1,200 for it if it gets wrecked, stolen, burned, etc.

Make sure that you have the right coverage!

Agreed, I did that one time on my old '79 K10. I came up with just over $11k and I decided that I'd never do that again,...add up the receipts that is.
