Anyone hacked there stock radio to add bluetooth so I can play songs from my smart phone? I figure the tape deck has an input. It would be simply changing this to a bluetooth.

Maybe use a casette to CD adapter that has a fake casette cartridge and an earphone plug on the cord that lets you use a CD player with a casette player..??...

That cassette adapter looks like a cool solution. I was thinking about opening the radio up and hard wiring something in.

They make Bluetooth modules that plugin to a cig lighter plug which is what I used. They come with a line out that you can plug into a radio using either the cassette adaptor or a line in on your radio.

Why in god's name would you want to keep the stock radio? They suck.

Horrible sound quality and even if they are in good shape they're 20+ years old. A $50 bottom line major brand aftermarket stereo would sound better.

Seriously man, for under $200 you can have a good aftermarket stereo with built in Bluetooth and all the trimmings in that thing and living life. The Dual I purchased over two years ago was $179 and it has BT, USB, Ipod/MP3 controls, HD radio, and a few other goodies.

Honestly though, unless your truck is bone stock on street tires with full insulation no one will be able to hear you if you plan on using it to talk on the phone through the radios and speakers.

You sure like doing things the hardway, huh?:dunno:

I believe now you can even buy aftermarket radios that LOOK like the originals, that still fit in the old two hole/knob applications, if that's what you still have, but have all the modern electronics and add-ons like bluetooth or whatever.
