Hi - Can anyone give me some feedback on how good (or not) adding a duel
Stabilizer up front. I have a 1991 GMC and it currently has a single steering
Stabilizer I was was told that it is reccommened to have a duel when runnng 35 inch tires or bigger (I have 35's). I am looking o to help reduce some of front end vibration.

Thanks

Vibration Description

Front end vibration on low acceleration. I'm sure most of it is attributed to the fact that I have a 4 inch lift with 35 inch tires and there is added stress on the stock driveshft. I have replaced all u-joints, but not much difference. Next step will probably be addressing the driveshft, however I wanted to see if the stabilizer could help?

I ran 35's and 37's on a 10b with 5" and no stabilizer at all. It also ran great with the factory original. If you need 2, you have an underlying problem that needs to be fixed. A stabilizer is great if everything else is in good shape, but more than one is a band-aid IMO.

the front driveshaft isn't turning in 2wd unless your hubs are locked in, so I would rule that out. Is is a consisant vibration at certain speeds? are the wheels straight and in good balance? Have you checked the wheel bearings, ball joints, and rod ends?

I don't think there is ever need a need for dual stabilizers, and if they do help they are just masking an underlying problem. Before I knew any better I had dual stabilizers on my '90 K5 with a 4" lift and 35's. When I removed them I noticed absolutely no difference. Since I have ran both 38 and 40" TSL's with no issues. In any case, I don't think the vibration you are feeling would have anything to do with the stabilizers.

I noticed no difference when I went from my single to dual stabilizer setup. I just think it looks better, because it just looks naked when there's no stabilizer at all.
