I have an 84 K5 , 305cid Carb motor. From what I remember/gather there is no external fuel filter. I want to add a normal between the frame rail filter. Probably about 1/2 up from the Tank. HOw hard is this to do? Id really like to do a nice professional job at it. Is there anyway to avoid the ole "cut the lines and add rubber hose with filter in the middle".

ANyone got a quick snapshot of what THEY did.

Thanks

If you have a mechancal fuel pump on the block, its not a good idea to install a filter before it. It harder on the pump to suck through, you'll be replacing pumps.

You should not put a filter between the tank and pump. Fuel pumps are made to push fuel. They do not have very muchpower on the suction side. Any restriction on the suction side will impeede fuel flow to the pump and eventually cause failure.
Those filters shown in the link above are designed for high pressure fuel systems with an In tank pump and should be installed between the pump and fuel pressure regulator.
