to a diesel 'burb.

Anyone done it? My research makes it look like the square body diesels never had it...can't find replacement hoses for it anywhere.:dunno:

That's o.k. though, I also learned how to cut the ferrules of the hard lines and reuse them :thumb: so I can use the hard parts on the 86, get some new hose and have them crimped.

Looks like the only "hard" part will be fabbing some tabs for the rear of the plastic cover to screw to...:thumb:

time to start accumulating parts...(new condensor, compressor...)

I retrofitted the 86 to 134 when I got it, it still works. I just never drive the dog gone thing.

Think I'll give it a go, of course I'll do a thread when I do.

If i can put rear air in a 85 Blazer :D, should be a piece of cake to put it in a diesel sub.

sounds like you have a killer rig (from your sig line):thumb:

the dreaded LMC and ebay both have the rear air lines for square body burbs. I had a link from ebay for the ones I wanted but computer crashed:doah: Havent searched for em since. lmcs are hard lines and ebays were hose type.

cool

I have the hard sections, I can get new hose & customize as needed.

I have two parts burbs with good lines if you need them. I never liked the rear a/c I put a sub enclosure in that space. I could pack em up and send them to you for whatever shipping would be.

I've seen at least 2 1980's Suburbans with factory rear A/C in junkyards....had rear heaters also............................................................I have also seen an older Suburban that had an RV air conditioner (rooftop mount) mounted on the rear of the roof...didn't look all that bad,and was very effective at cooling it off inside too,due to the fact it was designed to cool something 2-3 times bigger!....
