ADJ Shim or Crush Sleeve?

#6 is called an ADJ Shim by Dana, is this the same as a crush sleeve?

I am planning to replace just the pinion seal, but I know to do that on a 10 bolt you have to use what I have always called a new crush sleeve. Is this the same procedure to change the Pinion seal and my D60? And also what about on the 14 bolt, is there a type of crush sleeve also?
