Ok so my steering wheel was like | ... yes straight up and down.. but my links on each end were in all the way.. .so i took out the sawzall... and put a strip of electrical tape on one end of the xover bar. Did this on the passenger side... cut 1 tape width off.. then put the ball joint back on...
so now i was able to adjust it but i went too far....
so curious... can you adjust the bar without taking one end off? dont think so but thought id ask.. just spinning the bar with ends on will just evenly rotate the threads right? guessing im gonna have to take it apart again.... grrrrrrrrrrr

oh snap... ill have to try that.... i took the one off again.. PITA... and adjusted it.. rotated 3 times.. closer... but not perfecto.... however my steering doesnt pull that bad now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but side to side vibration is bad!!!!!!!

Like Brian said, you can adjust the draglink with it still attached AS LONG AS there are right and left hand threads in the draglink bar (ORD's are all this way i'm pretty sure). Also if you have to cut anymore length off the bar make sure you cut it off the end with the right hand threads. Trying to buy a tap that large with left hand threads isn't cheap if you happened to cut off too much and needed to tap the hole deeper. :deal:

toss that tool out. thay eat dust boots up bad.

take 4-5lb mini hammer and just smack the arm or spot he b/j or tie rod end goes in to. few wacks and thay pop right loose with zero damage to the dust boot.

They can if they come from us, we have them made for us with more angle capacity built into them :deal:
But if they're used on a drag link then it's not a tie rod end anymore is it?

Just kidding, that's good to now, how much angle can they handle?
Stock drag link ends are so long, so I couldn't get the first bend in my redneck-fabbed drag link
as close to the steering box as I had wanted.

only major complant i have with the super nice ord steering stuff is lack of 2 flat spots for a wrench to hold the bar/rod/tube when you wana loosen/tighten up the jamb nuts.

i agree!! :waytogo: i pulled out the gloss black a few times after first installing it, lol... the flat spots would be nice but a pipe wrench does just the same i suppose..

I bought my draglink bar from WFO and mine has flats for a wrench and IIRC it also was cheaper than one from ORD.

yeah when i bought mine.. dont think wfo was around...

so i adjusted mine and im just a hair off... not sure how to get it perfect.. if i try.. then the bar wont be perfectly level.... since it has the bend in it... hmmmmm
