Guys,

What is your favorite, and why? Boat trailers keep switching heights, and I might be picking up a newer tow rig to supplement the ol' burb.

I'm anal about things being lockable, but i'm open to suggestions otherwise.

What do you guys think?

Like the integral locks on this one, but want to use a conventional pin on the hitch itself.

This anderson one seems to be popular, but woudl require locking pins.

This one looks nice, but is a bit too curvy/modern for me. Could deal with it though.

What do you guys think of these nylon ball caps? They make me nervous at first glance, but may be a neat feature.

Yeah, that nylon one....

I've never heard of those yet. Sounds like a good idea, but sounds a little sketchy on the strength side.

I'm still in sticker shock. For two C-notes do those come with a reach-around?

But I only ever pull the one trailer so I just have the one hitch with the ball at the somewhere-around-a-foot-and-half (think mine's 17" unladen) and call it good.

Same here, all my stuff is 2-5/16 and I have 3 trailers for diff tasks. Height is already set on all. Haven't really used the adjustable ones.

I have heard good things about Diversi Tech hitches. Adjustable, lockable, anti-rattle. Haven't been able to fork up the dough for one yet though.

I hear you. I'm fortunate enough to get to pull a lot of newer boats, and am often in charge of moving boats around at tournament lakes.

Hitch height requirements were pretty standard, until recently, when Mastercraft started using a new style jack that has an adjustable mount, but no one bothers to adjust at the factory.

Therefore, unless i disassemble and adjust other people's trailers, i can't get the new trailers to drop down low enough to land on the ball if it's set for my boat.

I raised it up for this reason, and now my trailer pulls with its nose in the air, and the prop guard an extra inch closer to the ground :doah:

With this requirement, an adjustable height one seems to be where it's at.

For the 91, I can always just carry 2 ball mounts, one up and one down. If i end up getting a newer rig, the one i'm looking at is lifted, and 2 large drop hitches at different heights put me close enough to an adjustable that it seems worth it.

That being said, I always use a 2" ball. Haven't had a need for a larger one yet, but if i get a tow rig with some actual power, maybe the opportunity will present itself.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
