Ok so I have a really stupid question...

How do you adjust a clutch in a smc465?

My pedal starts out 1/2 way down.. can drive fine... however the pedal doesnt come all the way up... do I just adjust the rod until the pedal is 2" from the top? I ask as I know my clutch has been slipping... does that mean if the pedal is not adjusted to be all the way up... that the assist spring is not doing its job?

THanks
Jeff

I did mine like this..

I adjust the linkage until there is 3/4-1" of "free play" at the pedal, before you feel the throwout bearing contact the pressure plate...if you have a body lift, you might have the geometry screwed up, now that the linkage has been altered in length....the pedal should return by itself, all the way,if the return springs are hooked up correctly, and the throwout bearing is not dragging on its collar..
