Hello,

I’m working on swapping an nv4500 into my cucv. I bought a bell housing and slave cylinder bracket from AA. The bracket is designed to be used with 85-91 gm truck slave cylinders. However, my LUK slave doesn’t work. When bolted up and fully compressed it’s too long overall. The throw out arm is fully depressed and the TO bearing is riding on the end of the bearing retainer.

AA said they’ve had issues with this since changing pushrods. I think worst case I can cut the pushrod down AND space the slave cylinder off the bracket, but I’m wondering if anyone has found a slave that works with the bracket as is.

For now, I’ve shortened the pushrod and dust boot, as it was bottoming out too.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Man they have changed everything about that bracket. Nothing is like mine. Id start by spacing out the slave and finding out just how much it takes. Then evaluate if the push rod will work after shortening it.

Use a spring to return the lever and piston to it's fully retracted position, while checking/making changes.
Helps make sure you have all the slack out.
