Ok I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on the MAX efi kit from summit.
My son and a few if his buddies are all running them and now I'm ready to jump on the wagon.

Rig is 85 k20 plans are to swap out the tired 350 an swap out for an L31. Currently running a rebuild th400, gears are 4:10 (will eventually go down to 3:73) Stillnsemi float axle, tires are 265/75r16
I have a tank for an 88 suburban all lined up an ready to go and dump the dual tanks an selector valve etc etc.
Haven't decided on either running in tank pump or inline pump pros vs cons kind if deal.
My biggest dilemma is do I run a fuel regulator at the firewall (deadhead) were I can verify the fuel pressure need 58 PSI, longer re turn line back to the tank.
Or do I opt for the corvette style filter regulator an hope it only puts out 58 psi? shorter return line back to the tank.

For some reason I think I'm over thinking it and beating myself up.

any advice would be appreciated

Looks to me like they are rated at 58psi. Seems a pretty simple design to me, not sure what those filters cost, regulators don't seem to go bad that often, but not having a lot of return line seems better to me.

If the system "self tunes" or is any way adjustable, fuel pressure should be pretty easy to compensate for, if it's not ridiculously high or low compared to what the injectors are rated at.

Thanks to everyone that gave me some pointers, i finally decided to go with the inline pump vs in tank, although I don't ever plan on having the pump fail, but when they do its usually after the tank is full. Especially if I manage to swap in a 40 gal suburban tank. I know I can cut an access panel in the bed like I did in my K5, but there will be no Carpet back there, unless I do some sort of trap door like I have seen others do.
Again I appreciate all the feedback, and hope to getting it all done in time for spring hiking, camping season in the Eastern Sierras
