Looking for a winch for the jimmy, It weighs 6200 lbs, so I think 10,000 pound or over.

Advice on brand, size, model, and where to get the best price would be appreciated. Never had one before so all new to me.

I'm in to watch this one.... Kinda have the same question.

When I get a winch for the jimmy it will likely be a smittybuilt.

I know several people with em and they are holding up just fine

I have the smittybilt, havent abused it a bunch so cant really say. Got it 20% at 4wp during a sale.

At the $1k price point, theres a lot of good ones out there. Go 12k if possible

Nate has a Smittybilt winch. I can't remember what broke, but he didn't have any trouble getting it replaced with the lifetime warranty. I even want to say it broke due to operator error.

I have a 11,500 superwinch tiger shark. Never really needed it much but I have used it some.
Superwinch never gets alot of love I noticed.
I have a couple now, (atv, overhead crane as well) they have never let me down. So would keep buying them.

The regular steel cable 11,5 shark is $500 shipped from Amazon.
I remember it was the most pull per dollar I could get at the time.

I run a Warn Zeon 12. Its been a great winch. Removeable solenoid was the only way I could fit it between the frame rails. I took off about 1/2" per frame lower C section.

Line speed is definitely slow. But I've been turtled and screwed up pretty damn bad and its always pulled me out.

With that said. If I had the space up front and the money I'd be running a gigglepin twin motor 8274!

I'd go with a used Warn 8274.

I'd go this way too. I see them all the time around here for 500-750. My K5 comes in at 6000k and it's always done the job. I do have a snatch block and happy to say it's never been used yet.

I want an electric. A tow company owner I know has always tried to get me to use a hydraulic winch.

Used wouldn't be a good idea to bring home. Even though I know the 8274 is highly sought after.
