Advice on buying a 6.2 suburban

*I'm going to join the diesel list after I buy a truck.

Looking for a work truck that's cheap and reliable. There's an '88 on ebay that's about 30 miles away. Before I go look at it, what are the do's and don'ts of this rig?

It will replace my '87 Land Cruiser and I want to run biodiesel that my co-op purchases in bulk. Was looking for a CUCV ex-mil but they're a bit out of my range. Thanks

If the reserve is close to the starting bid it looks like a hell of a deal. It's probably not though. Rust condition looks pretty good. 176k is high for tranny, axles, and so forth but nothing for the engine. Might try to see if he can get the code that it's throwing, it says the engine light comes on after startup. I'd pay particular attention to the tranny.
