My top is in pretty good shape. But it has some scratches down it and could use just a bit of TLC. What is the best way to paint these? Im not looking for professional looking paint job but not sure if rattle can is okay or not. I figured i would lightly bondo some of the scratches and scuffs then sand them smooth
then primer, paint.
Keeping stock white color.
what advice can you guys give me?

Like anything else involving paint, prep is key. I sanded mine to get a good surface, repaired the problem areas, put on a 2K primer, sanded, and then sprayed with paint. A rattlecan won't be as pretty or fast as an HVLP gun, but with some good prep and taking your time it will look good. A color sand and a clear coat will help it look like new. What do you use your truck for and how much effort/money do you want to put into it?

The truck is just driven a few times a week. the previous owner appears to have used rattle can to spray random tiny rust spots throughout the truck so its not perfect. Its white with lots of slightly different shade of white spots all over. I just wanted to touch up the spots on the roof and maybe freshen it up some. I have a spray gun but I dont know if I really want to get into mixing paint and thinners and all that. I just dont know enough about it all.

rubberized spray

I used some rattle can rubberized white spray on the f/g top. Taped it off, scrubbed it clean, seems to be holding great.
