I did a axle swap on my 88 K5 and I can't use hook my E-brake up. Do I need to just make a custom bracket? I don't know the year of the 14b or what it came out of cuz the rig it was under the owner did a axle swap under that... My goal is to wheel the piss out of this 10B/14BSF and in the mean time build up a 44D/14BFF on the side. So my question would be is there a certain year truck I should look for? If I found a 88 2500 or 3500 Burb or truck would I be able use the E-brake then?
Thanks for the help!

Not really following you as to what the exact problem is.
Cable won't connect to the park brake lever? Or are you trying to use the entire cable from the donor? Cable style changed around '84 from center pull to two cables down drivers side so you'd need to use your '88 cable to the backing plate.
You have 11" or 13" brakes on the 14 SF?

2 cables coming from my drums connect to a bracket that go to my parking brake lever. And I think my brakes are 14s. They fill out my 16s pretty good.

I got it...I think.

There is only two brake options. 11 5/32" brakes or 13" and you got the big ones.
Do the cables bolt on to the backing plate or slip and lock in the hole?
Are the cables are the same length on both sides?
What you need to do either way, is get the cables off a 14bsf from an '84 or newer 3/4 ton with 13" brakes so they'll fit your '88 e-brake setup. 2WD or 4WD will work. All the same.
If the cables bolt on, you'll need to get the backing plate as well from the big brake '84 up 14 bolt SF.
