I finally got a replacement engine hoist. I also splurged and got a folding engine stand rated at 2K pounds. Both for $321.00 delivered to my door.

Wow look at those cool new toys! Are you going to open your own shop to supplement the carpentry business? Not to high jack your post but are you still planning on the 1st?

Fred- YES I am. Are you coming to Gunny for the car show this weekend???

James-still waiting for oilpan, and engine leveler. As soon as they are here, watch the bolts fly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm I may have to order the engine stand. I have an engine I need to bring to the house and put back together and then find something to put it in. Vroom vroom. No honey our son will be fine with a samll car and 300 or so horses!!

I have that same cherry picker and I love it...its worked flawlessly for quite a while... I got it to do my axle swap but have sense found many cool uses for it...

If there is a Craigs list in your area.....

You need to check it out, you can get cherry pickers and stands for usually under $100......not to shoot you down but a great resource and the ones you get have usually been used 1 time and are now just in the owners way.

I tried Craigslist, but I live in the boonies. Its 5 hours from here to Denver:eek1: . By the time I pay for gas for a 10 hour trip, plus a day gone, this was cheaper.

I got the same engine hoist as pictured above except it's a folding design. Fits real well in a one car garage and it's now in a storage unit for the time being. It's always nice to put a little new shine to the garage :D

EDIT: I also used it to lift the K5 by the towhooks and do my 52 spring swap. Purdy handy, eh?
