I have a 89 k5 blazer with a 350 v8, the oil pressure sending unit is acting up so i want to install a three gauge panel of mechanical gauges. can anyone tell me if I'll screw up the computer if i take the electric sending unit off and use the mechanical gauges? thanks a lot. Jimmybo:dunno:

'89 I believe was still using separate oil pressure sender/switches I believe (correct me if wrong). Oil pressure switch (two wire connector) is simply a fail safe if the fuel pump relay fails, but no direct input to the ECM.

Hey, thanks for the info, my sending unit has three wires going to it. that's why i was confused. the older ones had one wire and just yank out the sending unit then hook up the gauge. so tomorrow i'm gonna get my knukles cut and do it to it. Thanks again, Jimmybo :pimp:

The tree wire is different. That is a gauge/switch sending unit. Not sure which wires do what. Is yours on the top of the block by the distributor?
