Hello,
Did a search to see if I could find out if there is a consensus for a preferred supplier of aftermarket body panels. The only two I saw referenced was GMC Pauls and Gooodmark. I've ordered from, and have been pleased with, GMC Pauls. There's a lot of aftermarket panel suppliers out there, but wanted to see if anyone had any advice. I read that there are few manufacturers stamping this stuff out and that most of these suppliers all sell the same panels. Any truth to that? Anything made in the US? I'm on the home stretch of on again, off again frame off.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry, 72 K5..............

LMC is the worst...... NOS is the best.

Everything other source is on the continuum in between.

I have no experience with anything past repair panels for a '72 truck, but I can tell you that the lower door skin that Tabco makes themselves is pretty good. They are a lot better than the offshore stampings. The aftermarket outer rockers are poor, from my experience. My son ended up buying NOS for a lot of money. This probably doesn't help you at all.
What panels are you needing?

Thanks for the response. I have original outer fenders, but didn’t want to put the time into repairs. Guess I’ll rethink that. So, I need inner fenders, radiator support, battery box and the related pieces and parts to hang the front clip. Hood is ok, but needs some attention, too. I’d like to replace the doors eventually. I think they’re truck doors someone cut up to make blazer doors out of. I’ve already replaced rocker panels and boxes, floor pans and repaired a section of the fire wall. A couple of other rust repairs on the tub, as well.
It’s all good when you’re tearing it down to the frame, replacing sheet metal and getting the mechanical issues addressed. Stuff I can source locally.
The fact that I just don’t have the body parts on hand to finish the job has been what’s killing the project. Had a friend who ordered a hood for an El Camino he has and after the first 2 came in damaged beyond repair, the 3rd one survived shipping. I’m not wanting to go through that and that’s been weighing heavily on my mind. I just need to suck it up and order what I need. I guess the actual reason for the post was to see if there’s companies out there that are better to to business with, or stay clear of.

I've been getting alot of "Keyparts" panels from Mark at motorcityk5.com, I've been very happy with the quality and also the customer service of Mark himself. I just grab the phone and give him a call to explain what I need, he emails me a quote and I order via a link in the email. No issues at all and he has helped me find some parts that he didn't have on his site, like inner rear quarter repair panels
