I searched and couldn't find much info on this. If someone posted something about this, please post the link.

My last two aftermarket drivers fender had horrible fitment. Curious what aftermarket body parts actually fit ok? I read that GMC Pauls has good fitting products but has anyone tried any? Any other manufactures that produce a good fitting product? The 73-80 fenders are getting really hard to find along with Blazer tailgates. This applies to the 72 and older and 81 and newer on some as well. I see that Motor City K5 use to carry Blazer tailgates but now say not available. Any other places that carry Blazer tailgate shells? Seems they make them for truck, Suburban but no Blazer for some reason.

Thanks! I will look into Auto Metal Direct

I believe I read a while back that LMC offers "premium" fenders now and they were reported to fit well. AMD may be decent too, but I don't know for sure.

For years and years, no matter where you bought aftermarket '73-'80 fenders, they were the very same garbage that had been available for decades. But I guess now there is a manufacturer of them with new and better tooling.

Thats good to hear. I just spend a $300 in body work fixing a GM fender so it would be worth the premium price.

That's not so bad considering what NOS fenders cost these days. Imho, if an original fender can be properly repaired in a couple day's time, it's a better option than an aftermarket fender. Unless there are some new stampings out there now that are that good. I'd like to get a couple of the LMC fenders to see how they are for myself.

I used a LMC premium drivers bedside after someone hit me. My painter couldn’t believe the quality, said it was just as good, if not better than OE and did NO body work. It’s faintly wavy as you can see in the reflection of the pic but it’s 99.99% perfect. I’ve heard these are AMD parts but not sure.

I just installed a Certifit hood on my 89 Blazer and the fit was good. I was surprised since it had some Chinese company on the box.

I haven’t tried any body panels but I can attest that AMD makes great floor pans. I can only assume the body panels are well made as well.

Another review on cowl hoods.

81-91 Cowl Hood by Key Parts fits great. Has room for taller air cleaner or supercharger.

73-80 Cowl Hood by OER fit is terrible, big gaps, hits wipers. No room for tall air cleaner, has brace running along that area.

Thats awesome to know as I have a key cowl hood in my summit cart right now.

MotorcityK5 is where I got all my body parts worked great

Another Certifit hood with good fit. 89 Jimmy.

Updating this old thread.
73-80 Brothers\Holley front fenders = Horrible Fitment JUNK. Way off on the radiator support holes and not lining up well against the door. There is a sharp peak where the roundish top front corner is that should not be there which means MORE body work there.

I think they use to be good until Holley bought them and they might be a different now since there was a good review here back in 2018.

Going with the AMD Fender now. In Dec 2023 they came out with a Premium Fender so I hope these work. As you all know, its impossible to find OEM 73-80 fenders these days where I live in Colorado.
