So I've been looking around for some replacement bumpers (front and rear) that can take a pounding and haven't come up with a whole lot. By I mean pounding I mean nail a deer at highway speeds or destroy anything in my path without much damage to the truck, relatively speaking.
The only ones I can think of are the Buckstop bumpers, DIY4X Gauntlet and I just found out that Ranch Hand makes bumpers that fit the K10 but I think they're made for the 88+ trucks and I'm not sure if they support a winch.

Does anybody know of any more is that pretty much it?

Depends if you're talking highway use, which I think is the case, vs offroading.

I suspect you do NOT want a tube type bumper, but rather solid plate? Warn use to make a few that will show up used now and again, in the vein of the Buckstop/Ranch Hand stuff.

This is a Warn Enforcer, I think it is, with a grille guard welded on (and a tire mount in front of that, because a crewcab longbed isn't long enough :haha: )

DIY4X has some serious bumpers. If you hit a deer, it probly won't even scratch the paint.

ORD's bumpers are good

If you are into a tube bumper, they are definitely beefy :D I love the one I have !!
IIRC on their site they have a pic of one of their bumpers on a sub that ran through a herd of elk !!!!

I was looking for both actually. Something dual purpose that can also support a winch if I get stuck off road. I'm not too big into rock crawling but seeing how I live in CO it's inevitable. I remember Kert saying his Guantlet bumper is weaker at the "wings" than the center of the bumper and I know Buckstop is 1/4" steel throughout.

The wings might be weaker, but I have his bumpers, and there is nothing weak about these. These are some serious bumpers, should hold up to whatever you do. I haven't checked, but probly cheaper too.

Weaker is a relative term. Just cause the center is 1/4in plate and the wings are 3/16ths doesnt mean anything for Mr deer.

With the way people drive up here Mr. Deer is just the start. I'm also worried about "Mrs. I drive a truck to big for my skill and like to pull into traffic with a 2 second notice" and the occasional "Oh crap that's a Moose/Cow/Tree". :doah:

I wonder if Kert could make me a custom bumper with characteristics of all three companies. Buckstop has testimonials about their bumpers taking out small cars with no damage to the truck or bumper; RanchHand I know for a fact is a stout bumper because all the ranchers I grew up with had them; Kert's craftsmanship I know is also outstanding. Hmmm.....

Kert built my rear bumper I believe its the gauntlet and then fabbed me up a tube bumper for the front, and let me tell you theses things will more than hold their own against a deer no doubt about it.
