Any advice on an aftermarket or retrofit EFI system for a 383? Thanks

Not on aftermarket, but have you considered TPI or TBI? Probably less expensive to get into and proven reliability.

Running the howell system on mine.

They messed the chip up the first time. They had it set for a 350. Made it run lean on the high end. No big deal, the computer makes up for it.

They sent me another chip for a 383. Runs GREAT!

EXPENSIVE!!! ~$1300 Included everything and an additional chip, fuel pump and computer!
TBI

I run the Holley 2D system on my 400. They say that it can only handle up to 275 hp. I replaced the injectors with 80pound units and it seems fine. I think they are about 700 bucks for the kit. The CFM on them is higher than the stock unit on a 454. I love it, my bottom end became really responsive and it never misses a beat.

Take yur pick.
