Ok I have gone through 2 of the crappy stock plastic grills in the last 10 months and now on this second one I also lost all of the mounting tabs for it as well. What is a good not too expensive grill that I can get for my 78 that won't fall out in 2 months or break the first time I hit a low hanging branch? Oh and doesn't need those little plastic screw tabs that fell out with the stock grill /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

IIRC i got mine from summit for 60-80 dollars. Its a round tube chrome bumper. really looks nice, and it mounts using 4 sturdy brackets. The two down by the bumper and 2 up top.

I seen some polished aluminum billet grills on ebay for like $50-60... the full phantom grills are about $120

I put a Stull billet grill from LMC in my DD and it use to have a JC Whitney square tube grill

Personally I like the billet grill, eventually I'm going to put a phantom grill in my silver blazer and put the billet grill in my project truck /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I got mine from 4wp and it was like $100 but I got it for my b-day.

After buying billet ones which are nice but expensive and not wanting the cheesy square tube ones that rust after a month I decided to build one out of expanded steel (9 ga. 3/4 inch diamonds, smooth cut) mid section ended up at 40 inches x 14 1/2 inches.... need a little bending by hand to have it fit the contour but that was easy...
attached with self tapping wafer button head sheet metal screws....
painted in rustoleum hammer finish silver
strong as a tank grill
cost....
including a can of paint and a box of screws
25.00
looks awesome
