Who sells the most reliable aftermarket 2wd TH350?
I see mixed reviews on just about everything. From Monster, TCI, Hughes, summit etc...

I’m trying very diligently to find a TH350 local but it’s proving difficult. I’m not too interested in other transmissions mainly in wanting to keep it mechanical and no electrical anything.

The guy who built my TH350 for my Blazer can build me one for about $1400 including torque converter. But I don’t know. He isn’t much more $$ than anyone else, plus he has 3yr 36,000 mile warranty.

Was browsing here for info on GM tranny’s. I’d like to go TH350

I don’t have the th350. But After a few rebuilds on my 700R4 went with proformabuilt. Cost me a bit more. But 3 years later still doesn’t miss a beat. Runs cooler shifts better than an any of the other Local rebuilds I had that “supposedly” were BUILT that didn’t last 30000 miles and just outta warranty when they failed of course.

“proformabuilt Heavy hauler” tow my camp trailer in overdrive no worries. They say they are good for 500hp. If it fails outta warranty send back $1000 they rebuild with latest updates. Best trans money I have spent.

Really hard to beat having it done locally, assuming you have a good builder. I'm fortunate there is a little shop an hour away from me with a guy that has been doing transmissions for a long time. All the local race guys swear by him. If there is a problem just drop the truck off and he fixes it.

Stay away from Monster! A friend of mine builds his own transmissions, and several others in our club, but had a 4L65 in his work van with a cracked case. For the time and money involved in getting a junkyard case he decided to buy one of the Monster heavy duty transmissions. The thing lasted less than a year before it went out. They have a warranty but he would have to pull the transmission, pay a couple hundred $ to ship it to them, and hope they agreed to fix it, all while his work van was down for an estimated month. He decided to just rebuild it himself and it was pretty bad inside. Several parts that should have been replaced during the initial rebuild were obviously old and worn out, there were very few heavy duty upgrades, and many of the parts they did replace where cheap generic parts.

I have used Summit and TCI th350 trannys in several of my toys, never an issue, and reasonably priced if you don't have to ship. I live 3 hours from Summit in Reno,so I just drive up for big purchases.
