Ok so i am new to buying ag tires.:woot: dont worry i got a big lift :waytogo:etc and not affraid of cutting. but now its time for tires. i currently have 16 in rims 12 wide. i am looking for tires about40-44" and about 14" wide. i dont know how to select them or anything. im new but got to start somewhere:rolleyes: looking for mud and hill climbs. who can help me out?

also any recomendations? how did you like them etc ok guy thanx sandypants

Is this a trail only rig?? and you better have beefed up 1-tons cuz ag's will snap stock 60 shafts

Those look perfect. exactly what i am looking for. as for axels i have a 14bff out back, and im getting my d60 when i get back. new shafts... ok no problem:rolleyes: just add to my list of stuff to get when i return from this deployment in a couple weeks.:waytogo:

as for trail only? no but i also dont dd it. just drive for fun on special events. i plan on regular street tires for that.

Where do wheel?? Unless your wheeling AK or Canada, Or ALL you do is mud I would pass on AG's and go with a Bogger,LTB, or a TSL. Ag's work good in wet marshy conditions were flotation is Key, which for Loose hill climbs you wouldn't want.

And when I said new Shafts I meant Like 300M or RCV, stock 35 splines will break with Ag's,

:woot:I SHOULD BE OK... i mean i got an 89 that come with upgraded splins at 30 for each 10 bolt...

People brake 10 bolt shafts with 35in all terrains and you wanna run 44in ag tires?

Just take a torch and cut your shafts in half now. Dont even bother going out. At least then you'll be able to fix your truck in the driveway and not 20ft into the trail.

30 spline late model shafts are NOT an upgrade. Its the same size shaft with a change in the spline count, thats all. You shouldnt even consider a tire larger than 37s with a 10b or dana 44 front, period.

really people i know i was joking:waytogo: i wouldnt trust a 10 bolt as far as i could throw one! but like i said 14b ff, dana 60 and i guess new shaft like you guys said to do.

as for where im at im in missouri, full of rich black mudd, clay sometimes.. and lots of river bottoms full of big stickyness!!:D

for other areas like hill climbs i did say i will have other tires i will just be swaping depending on what and where we are gonna wheel:thumb:

Honestly , Boggers would be a better bet, Why buy 2 sets of tires??? I'd get boggers and spend the other 4000.00 it would take to run AG's and use it on other parts of your build

well sounds like you made up your mind then,

Sounds like you dont "need" Ags for your wheeling your just going for the cool factor which is cool , just saying I'd spend the money on other things

Friend of mine broke 14BFF shafts with his ag tires and a nasty 496? big block pushin' it.

Yep, one of our buddies up here spun the tubes on his 14bolt.
Thats why Myself and SledheadAk are going to Rockwells

thats just it...... I thought if you're in MO you have to have rockwells and 53" or bigger rubber for the black goo

EVERYONE who runs a 14 bolt should weld up their axle tubes, if you need a 14 bolt you're pushing more than that press fit and rosette welds were meant to endure.

Ya know, I still haven't gotten around to doing that. It's on the list.

Sled runs a D70 , and My 14-bolts are all welded

were going to Rocks because the Ag's are just to much for even Built 1-tons

If you are going to run Ag tires for the mud, might as well use Rice & Canes.
