Agr Steering Box - Read!!

No steering box bling for me (yet)...just heard good things about PSC stuff.

UPDATE-

No new bolts yet, but, I did tighten the 3 loose bolts up and drove it. Put about 80 miles on it and the top loosened up again - same 3 bolts I think also. Maybe 3 are of the bad design and one is good .... maybe it a coincidence .... we'll see ....

steve at ORD told me they use psc... just for some of the problems you are dealing with using agr's... he did say they did stand by their boxes... who knows.... he used to sell the agr's

Loc-tite 272 maybe (the red stuff)...

I'm kinda curious if the bolts are really the problem. I'm going to stick the new bolts in just as ARG would have., no lock washers or Loc-Tite and see if that works.

Got the new bolts today. I didn't take any measurments, but, the threads matched up. Put'em in (no Loc-Tite or lock washers). I'll post back in a week or so.

With so many negative comments about AGR, and having other competitions in the power steering industry such as WTO and PSC, I'm surprised I haven't read or seen anyone using boxes built by Tom Lee whom is the power steering king, so to speak. I know his business is somewhere in Cali, but haven't done a search to see if he has a website. I used to read his name plastered all over the magazines some years back and Off Road Unlimited "swears" by him.

everyone at pirate raves about PSC

Tom, who owns PSC, used to own AGR and sold it. He had to stay out of the business for a year or so and then he decided to come back in. I have a PSC box and pump on my 76. They have really expanded their website and product line since I first bought my stuff. He spent a lot of time on the phone with me and reminded me a lot of Jesse at HAD with his customer service. I see now he has other folks helping him out.

I had a PSC complete system on my 98 Z-71 after I fragged the box. I bought it back in 2003 I think and Tom also spent a long time on the phone with me.

I can recommend PSC.

My friend just got his setup back from him---ram is very nice, he rebuilt the box, worked the hydroboost setup and did some other knick knacks. i honestly have no idea what PSC setups are going for but friend paid over $1k----for an assist---- to me that is too much, it was nice, but not 1k nice.

I've got another box I need. I'll try PSC for that. I'm hoping my AGR box works out. This is my daily driver, I can't be stopping every 50 miles to fill the PS resvoir and tighten ther cap bolts. I'd expect more for the $520 I spent on the box.

Ordered up a PSC box for the other truck. We'll se how it holds up. So far, it was quite at bit less expensive.
