Ahhhh ford tech on ck5

I figured a coil is ultimately the problem, but without a code, I dont know which one, or if more than one are affected. Hence the reason I'm looking into the laptop stuff, to see if I can pinpoint the bad one without going to a shop.

A MOTIS should tell you which cylinder is missing, but unless you have access to one that doesn't really help. I don't know of any programs out there other than Fords IDS that you can put on a laptop to run tests with. Do you know any Ford Techs? If so just ask them if they would hook it up for you real quick and check it. I would do it for you, but I'm sure your not close to me.

Unfortunately, I dont know anyone in this area who is a tech. In fact I'm the techiest person I know here, and I'm mediocre at best.

I might just take it to a shop. I just hate doing that, but I'm stuck between a rock and a blue oval..........

Yeah thats what sucks about the newer vehicles. The average Joe can't work on them anymore.
