I used paint stripper on mine. I didn't need to sandblast. But if you can have it sandblasted for free or have your own blaster then have at it. Mine looked just like yours before I did the resto on it.

i can get it done for free so

Just make sure you block the vacuum inlet for the heated air modulator so it doesn't get sand in it while you're blasting and you should be in good shape.

thanks for reminding me

I think there's a clip somewhere on it that will allow you to remove it. I didn't have to take mine out since I didn't need to resto the inside of the housing. If you're not worried about the inside and are not going to directly blast it you could probably get away with covering that temp sensor with some duct tape or something while you blast the outside.

by the way the hole air cleaner is getting blasted down to bare metal and i am going to paint it semi-gloss black

craig artzner thanks again man for telling me about that company for decals

could you post up a pic of what the decal looks like

Cool. What do you want a picture of? The decal or the whole air cleaner?

Just took these 5 minutes ago. I know on my air cleaner the decal went in that exact spot. I verified it with a few other stock air cleaners that had the decal in the same spot. Yours might be a slightly different air cleaner but isn't your old decal still partially on? You can just put it back in the same place.

Hey what's your first name anyway? So we don't have to keep referring to you as 1978BlazerK5? Ten syllables is alot to stomach. Maybe even just a nickname?
