Hey Gents,

how does the air cleaner spacer attach to the valve cover? Does it have a special valve at the valve cover grommet? (something like a PCV valve?)

Thanks!

it hooks to a vac line, going to the top of the drivers side valve cover

Yeah, I figured that out, but my question is whether or not there is some type of valve in line like the PCV system has...

well the valve is the thing that goes into the valve cover, not sure what its called though:confused:

anyone have a pic of the valve, know what it's called, or can tell me where to get one????

Well on most I have seen the part you have is just the vent. Vent just needs clean air, no valve. The PVC valve hooks to vacuum at the front of the TBI unit.

Yeah, I know about the PCV connection. I just find it wierd that there is no valve in the air cleaner to valve cover connection. That would seem to allow the crankcase to ventilate to the atmosphere when the truck was not running.

I just need to make sure I have all this hooked up correctly so I don't get dinged by the California Smog referee...

There is no valve in the vent tube or valve cover connection. on TBI engines. It is just an open tube between the valve cover and the spacer. I doubt if any CC vapors could make it out past the air cleaner/housing/CAI tube when the engine is shut off.

I should have added that when a PCV valve sucks fumes from crankcase it requires a vent or it will suck in gaskets. This is your filtered air vent.

Like Thunder said, nothing there. I just looked on my 90 Suburban! :D

excellent! Thanks guys. Now I just gotta find where I can get the plastic piece on the valve cover to attach the hose to.
