air compressor and tools/suspension work ?

ordered shocks, ord shackle flip, bushings, front shackles. at first i kinda planned on having someone else do the work cause i've never done any suspension work before. i've read a lot on here and there's really nothing i can't do myself, tho i've heard an air chisel works well getting the old bushings out, plus it'd be an option removing rivets and just having air tools in general would be nice but i've never actually owned any.

what should i look for in a compressor? i've heard 5cfm for most air tools. i looked at a few new at home depot in the $350 - $450 range. and harbor frieght is just a few miles from my house. a quick search on ebay found this is it worth it?

Lets see.. for the front springs a good mallet should work for taking thoose old bushings out. if you do the fush kit i used a cut off wheel just be caferull, basic hand tools needed as well, for the rear leafs i did need a torch cause thoose things had a sleeve in the shackle and were a pita to take out.

If you are going for a compressor id say the bigger the better, you wouldnt want to run out of air and wait and wait till the tank gets filled again. thats just me.
 
Usually the bigger the better in air compressors, but be careful.
Above a certain size, the motors are going to be 3 phase. Don't even try to run one off single phase with one of the static converters or a rotary converter.

They work, but you lose horsepower.

A 3 phase motor speed control box will convert single phase to 3 phase and give you full power, but they top out at about 3 or 4 horse with single phase input.
 
biggest you can afford, that one on craigslist is way too much for what it is
