Anybody got air compressor experience? I bought this devill bliss air compressor from a guy and I’ve blown it up twice now, both times the pistons have gone to crap. First time was probably my fault, second time, I replaced with the apparent “replacement”, they do look the same as the originals and they cracked as well and the company won’t warrantee them out because I put them in a twin cylinder and they are made for a single? So now I’m looking for a replacement pump and can only find ones that have a pulley and take a belt whereas mine is directly driven from the motor shaft. Any help? Or should I just fork over $500 for a whole new unit with a warrantee and all that? I’m about $400 all in on this one now and don’t want to keep dumping money into it.

all them air cooled oil less units are LOUD not rated for real long run times and cost more to fix than there worth in the end . sad to see devilbis name on that unit .

if the tank is rated for atleast 140psi then keep it as a storage tank and go get a real unit new or used . but ask here first before you buy one to make sure its good .

and if looking for good used try and get a 1725 rpm range unit . quieter and less amp draw .

here is my first compressor i built from parts and she is a little monster and can run all day no problems . 1970's I.R. t-30 pump and 9cfm at 175 psi . just didnt have the new air filter inlet silencer muffler on it yet in the pic . i had maybe under 600 bucks max in this unit but prob closer to 500 .

Yeah not really much selection around where I live. Plus I’m a bit hesitant to buy used again without a warranty or anything.

was just at my t/s today for qty 4 of 3/4 grd 8 bolts for my table build and looked at the dewalt unit .

dont look to bad . has a 3450 rpm motor and the next level up even in the I.R. brand is 3450 rpm .

dont blame you on hit or miss on used . i got lucky on my used BIG pump for my big compressor . but took a gamble .
