Ok so I bought a quincy 2 stage compressor a few months back and I also bought an ingersol rand regulator which already bit the dust. I took it back now I need help finding a good regulator, 1/2 inch can handle at least 175psi (most are only good to 160psi) and I prefer one with a filter built in. Anyone have a suggestion? What are y'all using and where did u get it? I don't want to get something crazy expensive trying to stay under $100 but if there is something REALLY good then I will go $150 thanks guys

Check Grainger's website and you'll find all kinds of regulators at a bunch of different prices, just remember that you get what you pay for.

paint gun manny's have nice stuff... I like Binks, but they tend to be a bit more money, in the 2 to $300 range... my Binks seperator is sick...

Devilbiss, and even more so, Sharpe, will have some cheaper quality offerings... Sharpe will probably be the best bang for the buck...

Thanks guys I will look into the sharpe and I have a 2 stage so it shuts off at 175 psi that's why so much pressure

i like having that much pressure that way when i am out working at night i have a lot of reserve capacity in my tank so i don't wake my little one up in the middle of the night while she is sleeping from the compressor kicking on.

and i don't generally use over 90 unless i am blasting then maybe 140 but a lot of the regulators i have been looking at have a max working pressure of 160

thanks ryoken thats exactly what i have been looking for and it has a max working pressure of 200psi so that looks to be just what i need.

175psi just makes your impact work better. :)

In all seriousness I just set my compressor at 150 psi and run a water separator and called it a day. The only thing I have that doesn't like that much pressure is a cheap HF spray gun so I just put a small regulator right on the gun.
