Good evening everybody,
I have an LS and a 91 square body. I've had a modified bracket with air conditioning. It works okay I was just wondering is there a way to create recycle? If not is there any way to make The air circulate at a higher rate? Possibly a new blower motor with some more horsepower not sure........ I've talked to vintage here and they told me there wasn't anything they can do for me.

Is the air switching to the dash vents? Not leaking to floor or defrost vents?
Did you do the swap. Was just helping a friend fix his with an ls. The shop that did the swap didn't hook up the dash vacuum. Ls engine vehicles have electric HVAC. Our squares are vacuum.
If vac is hooked up then , go after the seems of the plenum system, plenty of leakage opertunity there. Also check the each door is function, and fully closing.

Thank you for the info. I believe that I need to go through each door because the air is blending with other vents. These are all vacuum driven do you suggest to replace all hoses that control the open and close? Thanks again.

When you say "vintage", do you mean your system is from Vintage Air? Because that system is a lot different than the factory AC system.

Hi, yes I do mean Vintage Air the company. I believe since I have factory I will stick with that and replace all parts make sure all doors are operating correctly and replace foam gaskets.

Sorry, I missed the vintage part. Disregard what I said.

Which compressor are you using? Which condenser? How do you know the charge is right?

Biggest thing for factory airbox is to be sure the blend door is closing all the way. That's mechanical. Vacuum selects which vents the air goes out and the fresh/recirc flapper. You can test the whole vacuum system without really disassembling anything. Just listen and feel. If something doesn't change over like it should, then it's time to chase hoses.

Vintage air is on constant recirculate. There is no fresh air setting. It is a closed unit so there’s not much else you can do. It is all electric actuators and if it’s been powered down for a while you might need to cycle the switches to kind of relearn their positions.

As I read the post, OP asked vintage air for help, they blew him off. This is a gm C60 air.
Still need to know what year.

Not sure they blew him off rather than just told him the answer of “no” we don’t have another blower motor for the unit.
You can install their monster condenser to get a larger component there if you don’t already have that. It’s not bolt in though.

cleaning the electrical connections, in the blower circuit might help it move more air. The High blower relay can have high resistance also. A good ground at the blower motor is a must.
The rotary vacuum switch in the dash controls might be dirty and restricting vacuum to dash pots, or it may be leaking. I haven't found a source for these. Not sure how servicable they are. Last time I tried to repair one you could still buy a square truck from GM dealer, iirc I ended up replacing with new part.

I have not tried it but I've heard a couple references to using a later model blower motor. There are a few a youtube videos that specifically reference using a 1994 Chevy extra/crew cab blower motor for an increase in fan power on square bodies said to be a bolt in deal. looks like mixed results but cheap enough to try.

Did you verify that the air doors are working properly?
I wouldn't just replace everything, but the rubber vacuum hoses can be an issue. The plastic ones are more durable, however not fail proof. The one behind the air cleaner housing cracked on my '90, just above the distributor.
Also check the hose going to the vacuum reservoir. Mine was in the corner of the left fender and firewall.

Do you know for a fact that there isn't a build up of debris in the evaporator core and maybe the heater core? Dirt and cotton fibers from cottonwood trees can cause a quilt over the fins.
