My 70 k5 is getting an 87 TBI 350. Its also going to get the AC setup from a 72k5 that I just bought. The 72 seems to have all of its parts. The compressor still has brackets on it (might be missing some) and no hoses were disconnected or cut. Here's my problem (one of them anyway) - The 87 had the compressor on the driver's side and it has a partial serpentine partial v-belt setup. The 72 donor doesn't have all of the other pulleys and brackets because it had no engine. I don't want to move the compressor to the driver's side because it is bound to look like crap. I have a 93 tbi 350 with the serpentine system and an AC compressor on the passeneger side. What do you folks think about running the complete system (pulleys, brackets, alt.etc.) off the 93 on the 87 enginge in the 70 with the rest of the 72 ac sysptem. Would I just need custom hoses made to mate the newer compressor to the 72 system?

93 on the 87 in the 70 with the 72, yes, adapt some hoses to it and you are done. The only "issue" with the setup is it is a long water pump instead of a short water pump like the 67-72 trucks use. No big deal, but you may have to shorten the depth of the fan shroud to keep the fan half in and half out like it is supposed to be. I have seen many trucks with the long water pump and stock shroud and they seem to function fine, but it doesn't look just right in my opinion.

I agree. Adapt the brackets and pulley from the 92 so that all components match and work together.
