Air filter hat size question

If I have this style air filter housing on the Blazer, can I continue to use the bottom and replace the top with something more shallow? Maybe a 2" filter? It will clear the Squarebody hood, but not a car. I modified the lower half and would like to keep it as well as the cold air hose and core support vent...if possible. Thanks ya'll

Nothing.
I just know it won't fit under the hood and if it magically did, it would be out of place being that big. However, the lower part has been modified to fit over the FAST EFI throttle body and I'd like to keep that.
